Frequently Asked Questions:

1: Will this equipment work with my camera?

A: Our studio lights are compatible with all Digital and Film SLR's, some compact SLR's, ALL medium format and large format cameras.

2: Do I need anything else to connect the lights to my camera?

A: This is very much dependant on your camera. If your camera has a built in P.C. Sync socket then you have everything you need to get started, although there are wireless connections available to you. Cameras with built in P.C. Sync sockets include:

NIKON: D200, D300, D700, D900 D1, D2, D2x, D2Xs, D3, D3X, FM2, F4, F3
CANON: EOS 1D, EOS 1DS Mk II & Mk III, EOS 5D & Mk II, 20D, 30D, 40D, 50D

Cameras without P.C. Sync Sockets include:

NIKON: D40, D50, D70, D70s, D80, D90
CANON: EOS 300D, EOS 350D, EOS 400D, EOS 450D

For these cameras you will need an adapter to connect the lights to your camera, unless you are using a wireless connection. We can provide a generic hotshoe adapter for this purpose but we strongly recommend that you consult your warranty card/instruction manual before using a generic hotshoe as some manufacturers have their own hotshoe adapters available.

Minolta & Sony cameras have specific hotshoe configurations and will require a dedicated hotshoe adapter unless the camera has a built in P.C. Sync socket.

3: How long will it take to get to me?

A: We try and get your products to you as soon as is humanly possible. For delivery to a business address the courier time is 24 hours. To a residential address it is 48 hours. We dispatch every day at 3pm. We CANNOT guarantee delivery times. If you have a time critical order, please contact us on 0845 643 6443 during office hours to discuss before placing your order.

4: Is there a guarantee or warranty provided with these products?

A: Yes! We have a no quibble 18 Month replacement guarantee on ALL of our professional lights, and a 12 month guarantee on *B Series and accessories. Fortunately our products are excellent quality and very reliable, so problems are very rare. Please keep your receipt though, just in case. If something should occur, we will just replace the item immediately with a brand new one.

The only exception to this is glassware. Flash tubes are warrantied for 12 Months, and modeling bulbs for 30 days. Because of the very nature of their use, modeling bulbs have entirely speculative life expectancies. Use at full power inside a Snoot and they will last a very short time, whereas if they are used sparingly within an umbrella they will last much longer. All glassware should be handled with clean, lint free cloth or gloves. Handling a bulb or flash tube with fingers can cause heat spots and reduce the life of the product. Mishandling of glassware is potentially dangerous and no liability can be claimed for products or surroundings damaged as a result of poor handling or misuse. *The B Series is intended for private home use and not professional use. Any such professional application will invalidate the warranty.
